Thank you for your recent query regarding Air
China catering. We are pleased to be able to put your mind at rest - Western
food is served aboard our flights, thus MSG content is minimal. Should you have
special dietary requirements, however, we would be pleased to pass your request
on to our Catering staff - fortunately the ' big pot' syndrome doesn't apply!
If you are travelling back from Beijing with Air China also, then the same
request must be made locally. Although, again, special needs should be catered
for, it is unusual, as you point out, for Chinese food to be prepared without
MSG, so should you feel more comfortable supplementing your in-flight food with
provisions of your own, we would assure you that no offence will be
taken.
