I recently
travelled on one of your aeroplanes - I think it was a Boeing 767- anyway it
was the one with an enormous engine suspended precariously from each wing - and
following the experience I have a rather serious complaint to
make. From where I was seated in seat 15A a good quarter of the
TV screen was obscured from my view by the overhead hand baggage compartment.
The in-flight movie was 'Sister Act Two'. I saw about 'Sister Act One And A
Half'. As it turned out this proved to be a blessing in disguise as the film
was absolute bilge and the less one could see of it the better, but that is
hardly the point. Your TV screen being partially obscured from view is
not my complaint however, although this situation is far from satisfactory. My
complaint is that through leaning over in an effort to see all the TV screen
(impossible), I got a stiff neck. When we arrived at our hotel I applied some
'Fiery Jack' to my neck to ease the pain. (Fortunately my wife always carries
this ointment with her, it does wonders for her lumbago and I can thoroughly
recommend it). However, before I had the chance to wash my hands after
administering the Fiery Jack I was distracted by one of my children being sick.
After dealing with this emergency I went to the toilet to urinate, forgetting
that I still had traces of Fiery Jack on my hands, with the result that I
severely burned my penis, which completely spoiled my holiday. I
have now thankfully recovered, but the fact remains that if you had taken the
trouble to position the TVs in your Boeing 767s so that people sitting in seat
15A could see all the screen without getting a stiff neck then this would never
have happened. Bearing this in mind I think that compensation for inconvenience
and pain and suffering would be in order, and I await your reply with
interest. Yours sincerely T Ravenscroft
(Mr)
