Dear Jennifer Smith

Thankyou for your letter of 9th May.

You say that you are unable to comply with my request at the present time. Does this mean that you might be able to comply with my request at some time in the future? I say this because I live quite near to Manchester Airport, and quite frequently see your aeroplanes close up, and only the other day I saw one which by the look of it will be hard put to see the month out as far as airworthiness is concerned. (It's the one whose right hand side wheels shudder just prior to landing).

Actually I think we can do each other a favour here. How would it be if you let me have this aeroplane when it becomes available, and in return, on top of your asking price, I will guarantee not to change its Delta Airline livery and logo? The advantage to you of course is that when it crashes into the skyscraper in our movie 'One Flew Into The Towering Inferno' Delta Airlines will receive a lot of free publicity.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely

T Ravenscroft (Mr)
