Dear Japan Airlines

I am afraid that I have a complaint to make about your airline. On the return trip from Osaka to London recently your cabin staff served me some uncooked fish. When I say uncooked I don't mean that it was merely underdone, or even grossly underdone, I mean fish that wasn't in any way done - in fact I will go as far as to say that the nearest the fish came to having any heat applied to it was when I took the cover off the plate and the sun shone on it through the window. I heard someone refer to it as 'sooshy' or something like that.

I couldn't eat it of course, although, I must admit, I saw several Japanese businessmen tucking into it with apparent relish - but then you Japanese think nothing of committing suicide by throwing yourselves on your swords do you, so you obviously have stronger stomachs than we occidentals.

Oddly enough the rest of the meal was quite exemplary and cooked to perfection, so I think you ought to have a word with whoever cooks your fish and tell him to get his act together before you start losing passengers.

Yours faithfully

T Ravenscroft (Mr)
