Dear Mr. Ravenscroft,

Thank you for your letter dated 01 May 1994 regarding your request to "take control of the aeroplane for a couple of minutes" on your planned flight from Manchester to Jersey this summer.

Please note that I have highlighted your request to our Chief Pilot. He has advised me that no British airline will allow passengers to take control of an aeroplane for any period. I realise that Aeroflot may have different operating procedures, but no British airline will grant your request. Obviously the safety of our passengers and aircraft is paramount.

A visit to the Flight Deck may be possible and a request for this should be directed to Manx Airlines. Loganair ceased flights to Jersey in March 1994 and these were adopted by Manx Airlines. Manx Airlines are based on the Isle of Man.

Yours sincerely

G.F.Monaghan
Customer Services Administrator.
