Dear Malaysia Airlines

I will be travelling to Bangkok with your airline in a few weeks, and I must confess that I'm not looking forward to the experience one little bit! (Going to Bangkok, that is, not flying with your airline - in fact if the stewardesses on Malaysian Airways aeroplanes are as pretty as I've been led to believe it should be quite pleasant, especially if they wear those skirts with a split up the side). The thing is, I'm in the Cornflour business, and I'll be visiting Thailand in the hope of opening up a new market for my product. The problem is that I will be bringing one pound samples of cornflour with me, and cornflour looks very much like a certain substance that shall remain nameless, but in which the Thai Government is very down on. (And quite rightly).

To put it in a nutshell there is no way that I am going to get through the Thai Customs without my little packages of cornflour being given a thorough going over by the local customs officers, with the result that they will almost certainly be in no fit state to make any sort of favourable impression on potential clients. Is there any way of avoiding this upset?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely

T Ravenscroft (Mr)
