Dear
SAS
|
|
|
|
|
Thankyou
for your guide to SAS Travel
Services which you kindly and promptly sent to me following my letter of
the 30th March.
Since writing to you I happened to see an
advertisement for SAS in a magazine, and was more than a little surprised to
learn that you employ stewardesses on your aeroplanes. Frankly I didn't realise
that the SAS employed females - I thought your force was made up entirely of
macho males who look like Martin Shaw. On reflection though I don't suppose
there is any reason why you shouldn't employ members of the fairer sex, after
all my wife packs a fair punch, especially when she's been at the
bottle.
It also causes me some concern that your
stewardesses don't wear the normal SAS uniform when on the aeroplane. How then
are potential hijackers to know that they are dealing with the SAS, and
therefore have second thoughts on hijacking the aeroplane, if they can't
recognise you by your SAS uniform? Attractive as your girls look in their
uniforms I do think that your normal gear of black sweater, black trousers,
hard helmet and riot shield would give your passengers more confidence that the
aeroplane isn't suddenly going to be commandeered by some Middle East
fanatic.
Incidentally, are your stewardess's uniforms for
sale, as I would like one for my wife? I'm trying to get one from Air UK but
there is a possibility they might let me down, but yours are almost as
attractive and if I end up with two that will mean twice as much fun, won't
it.
Finally, and despite the reservations outlined above, I
have decided to fly SAS to Australia, first class, the first week in September,
returning one month later. I will be taking my wife and six children, aged
fifteen months to sixteen years, and I would appreciate it if you could write
to me giving the price of the tickets and where I can purchase
them.
Yours faithfully
T Ravenscroft
