Dear USAir
Incorporated

|
I am
currently in the process of setting up a Passenger Aircraft Museum, and am
wondering if you could help me to achieve this?
I have
managed to obtain most of the items which I feel will be of interest to
visitors to my museum, but I am still falling short of my requirements in the
matter of stewardesses uniforms. I need five in all, and thus far I have the
uniforms of British Airways, Air China, and South African Airways. A United
States of America uniform, along with the Australian uniform I expect to be
arriving soon from Qantas, would mean that I would have five stewardesses
uniforms, one from each of the five continents.
The
'models' on which the stewardess uniforms will be displayed are a British size
12 - I'm afraid I don't know the equivalent size on your side of the pond, but
I feel sure one of your lovely stewardesses will know.
I
would be quite happy to pay for the uniform, although I must point out that the
other airlines let me have them free of charge, and I am sure you won't want to
be the odd one out. It doesn't matter if the uniform has been worn, in fact I
would prefer it, as in the interests of authenticity I intend to spray the
uniforms liberally with perfume, so that they will have the 'Scent of an
airline stewardess', and obviously if the uniform has been worn by one of your
stewardesses it will already have this bewitching
scent.
Incidentally, you may be able to help me on another
matter. The two 'pieces de resistance' of my museum will be a wheel which fell
off a Boeing 747 during its descent into Manchester Airport, and a stainless
steel aeroplane lavatory which was once sat on by President Nixon - though this
was before he became President and disgraced himself, but no less authentic for
all that. I am toying with the idea of having a wax effigy of President Nixon
sat on the lavatory, but my wife feels that this might be in bad taste. What do
you think?
Looking forward very much to receiving the
uniform. Have a nice day.

Yours
sincerely
T Ravenscroft (Mr)
