In compiling this encyclopaedia bold type was employed to signify each new entry, italics were employed to highlight names in the text, and Italians were employed to provide the ice cream. Names of people are listed Christian name first, then surname, rather than surname followed by Christian name, as in most other encyclopaedias. For example the ex-Chicago Bears quarter-back Hatter Brown appears under 'H' as Hatter Brown, rather than under 'B' as Brown Hatter. Although by all accounts he probably was one.The reason for this is that the compiler of the encyclopaedia feels that listing a person's Christian name before their surname assists clarity and continuity. More importantly it allows him to make jokes like the one above, and the Bob Tway joke.
