Richard M Nixon (Born 1913) Ex-President
of the United States of America.
Forced to resign in office when unmasked
as a liar and a cheat. For displaying
similar characteristics in British
politics he would probably have been
knighted.
Richard Stilgoe Lyricist of the
musical Starlight Express who regularly
appears on the TV show Countdown, where
he demonstrates his skill for making
up anagrams. Has yet to come up with
a completely satisfactory anagram
using the letters of his own name,
probably because after forming 'ego'
and ' a shit' there is little one
can do with the remaining letters.

Roman Numerals Letters I
= 1, V = 5, X = 10, L = 50,
C = 100, D = 500, M = 1000,
used in counting
numbers. Largely abandoned by the Romans
in favour of Arabic Numerals when they
realised that having a LXIX (69) was nowhere
near as much fun in Roman Numerals
as it was in Arabic, especially as it took
four people to do it and one of
them was stood on his own in the middle all the time
doing nothing.
Romantic Poets
Typified
by Blake and Burns, they were poets who
used simple words and stanza forms, renditions of
joy and love, e.g. "Dear maiden, I have a
heart to fill, One smile from you
would fill it to overflowing." As opposed
to Unromantic Poets, epitomised by
McKnight, e.g. "I've bought you drink and
I've shown you the town, Now its time
to get your knickers down."
Rough Guide A pamphlet
telling you all you want to know about
female binge drinkers.
RSJ (Rolled Steel Joist)
An almost mystical object, never seen
by members of the general public. Builders always
inform householders they
will need an RSJ before undertaking even the
smallest constructional alteration to the
householder's property. Always
accompanied by downturned hands, a grave
shake of the head, and a request for a
cup of tea.
